Wine & A Movie: A Good Year

Join us at Örökmozgó for “Wine & A Movie.” Every month we will be featuring a themed tasting of eight (or more) Hungarian wines preceding a select film at Örökmozgó, a Budapest film institution. Sample some new wines with us, and then stay and enjoy more wine with the film (during which you will be able to purchase wine at the back of the theater). Or just come for the wine!

When: April 25th. Tasting begins at 5:00pm. Movie begins at 6:30pm.
Film: A Good Year (2006) (with Hungarian subtitles)
Wine: Hungarian Rosé and Rosé Sparklers (TBA)
Where: Örökmozgó (VII. Erzsébet körút 39, www.filmintezet.hu)
Cost: 200 Ft for ½ dl tasting portions. 800 Ft for the film.

A GOOD YEAR: A London investment banker (Russell Crowe) learns that a favorite, but estranged, uncle in France has died, leaving him to inherit a château and vineyard in Provence. Max heads to Provence, hoping to sell the estate, but has a change of heart as memories from his childhood, partly spent there, come flooding back. A beautiful local woman and a young American who claims to be Henry’s illegitimate daughter further distract him.

Director-producer Ridley Scott. Screenplay Marc Klein. Based on the book by Peter Mayle. Director of photography Philippe Le Sourd.
