Wine Workshops
Taste Hungary offers a variety of wine tastings and classes for small groups. These private wine tastings/classes are perfect for small groups. They are ideal for those just visiting Budapest who want a general overview of Hungarian wine or those living in Budapest and want to learn about specific regions, varietals, or wine styles. These classes can be one-time events, or we can schedule them regularly for groups wanting more in-depth knowledge of Hungarian wine. We have created several themed tastings, but as with our tours, we are happy to create any type of customized wine events, either at a location of our choosing or at your home, hotel, or office. We believe that wine always goes better with local food, and with any of our tastings we can add a selection of local artisan cheese, cured meats, or other local borkorcsolya (wine snacks).
Corporate Events
Taste Hungary can organize an entertaining and educational program for your corporate incentive event. From an interactive wine tasting class or a wine pairing dinner to a visit to a winery followed by a meal, we can work with you to arrange a program that will work for your group. We can hold the fun and informal events at a restaurant or hotel, or we can bring them to your own location. Entertain visiting clients or colleagues with a private wine tasting class to introduce them to the wonders of Hungarian wine, or reward your star employees with a group wine tasting class to further their knowledge. Culinary Translation and Editing
Don’t let your get lost in translation. Clear and accurate communications in the culinary industry are important. We can put our experience in professional translation, writing, and editing (native English and Hungarian) and our quest for accuracy to work for food and drink firms based in Hungary. We can assist with:
- Menus: development, writing, and editing. Menu translation is a difficult area. Food vocabulary is rich, precise, and heavily culture-dependent. Culinary and language expertise are necessary to avoid unappetizing and inaccurate translations.
- Recipes and Cookbooks: Translation and adaptations (to either American or European formats).

Cooking Classes
So you are staying in an apartment rental in Budapest with a full kitchen. You have been to the Hungarian markets and you’d like to know just what it is that Hungarians do with all of that bounty in the kitchen. Following a market tour (or in lieu of a market tour) Carolyn Bánfalvi can come to your kitchen (and bring whatever cooking supplies are missing) to create a Hungarian meal with you. The menu will include several seasonal recipes (which you we will confirm in advance), and she’ll leave you with copies of them so you can recreate your Hungarian adventure back at home.
For Tour Operators
Taste Hungary is happy to work with tour operators to create special wine and food experiences for your clients in Budapest and Hungary. We can tailor any of the wine classes, trips, or other experiences listed on this site for groups of any size. Tastings and events for larger groups can be held at one of our partner restaurants or hotels.
